The famous presenter of “Song of the Year” Evgeny Menshov has died

Yevgeny Menshov, Honored Artist of Russia, died in 69 in Moscow.

As Menshov’s wife told reporters, her husband died in hospital after a long illness.

Evgeny Menshov is known to viewers primarily thanks to the TV show “Song of the Year,” which he hosted together with Angelina Vovk from 1998 to 2006. The actor played for more than 30 years at the Moscow Gorky Drama Theater and also acted in films.

Menshov's filmography includes about 20 films. In 1972, he made his film debut as a tourist in the film “The Dawns Here Are Quiet.” Menshov's last film work was the film Natural Selection, released in 2009.

In early May at Germany, the ballet dancer Maya Plisetskaya died.
