Ukraine and the United States will build a “Sea Wall”

According to the first deputy head of the State Border Service of Ukraine Vasyl Servatyuk, Kiev, with the help of the United States, will create a system for monitoring maritime waters.

“Given the urgency of threats both in the Sea of ​​Azov and in other areas, (...) we have developed the following plan, which we conventionally call the “Sea Wall,” Servatyuk said at a press conference on Monday.

According to him, during the development of this project, special attention was paid to systems for the early detection of threats, and the experience of both Ukrainian and foreign manufacturers of similar systems was studied.

“One of these possible options, in our opinion, is the use of equipment and technologies that were offered to us by an American company. We studied the experience, worked out possible options together with them, and our specialists studied the possibilities of using this system at the production sites,” noted Servatyuk.

Previously reportedthat the budget adopted by the US Congress for 2016 fiscal year provides for assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 300 million. The document allows the Pentagon and the State Department to send military equipment and weapons, including small arms, and grenade launchers to Kiev.
