Thousands of protesters threaten to thwart Trump's inauguration

Thousands of demonstrators intend to stage a protest on January 20 in Washington to thwart the inauguration of the elected US President Donald Trump.
Protesters (including DisruptJ20 and Black Lives Matter groups) will try to block all 12 checkpoints to the ceremony site at the Capitol where Trump is to take the oath and along Pennsylvania Avenue.
In addition, they want — also through demonstrations and blocking roads — to prevent the traditional inaugural ball.
“We want to see an uprising simmering in this city and across the country,” protest organizer David Thurston told Reuters.
The organizers promise other “surprises”, but at the same time they are afraid of clashes with Trump supporters.
In total, 27 initiative groups received permission to hold various actions in Washington on the day the new US president was sworn in.
This is 4 times more than the average issued during the inauguration days in previous years.
It is expected that this time the inauguration of Trump will be visited by 800 thousands of viewers. More than 15 thousands of security officials are called upon to ensure their safety.
Acting Chief of Police of the District of Columbia, Peter Nyushem earlier made it clear that the guards will be ready to resist attempts to disrupt the ceremony.
Neither Trump nor his team has not commented on the plans of the protesters.
The results of the US presidential election, which Trump won, have already accompanied by protests.
