Turkey decided to abandon Russian gas
Turkey is looking for suppliers of gas and oil that would allow it to completely refuse from Russian gas.
On the search for alternative suppliers, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on the local television channel AFP, reports the news portal Yahoo.
The head of Turkey noted that Russia has not yet demonstrated that the tensions that have developed between the countries, after the Turkish Air Force destroyed the Russian Su-24 fighter, may affect cooperation in the energy sector.
However, according to him, in the circumstances, Turkey is looking for new suppliers.
“We can find other suppliers,” said Erdogan.
He added that over the past few days, Turkey has agreed on energy supplies with Qatar and Azerbaijan.
Erdogan recalled that Turkey is 90% dependent on imported gas and oil, the largest supplier of which, at the moment, is Russia, but Erdogan is determined to change this.
It is worth noting that Turkey is in second place in terms of purchases of Russian gas, the first is Germany.
