Earlier on Wednesday, Trump visited North Carolina, also affected by a natural disaster, writes Voice of America.
“America mourns with you,” Trump said, addressing the victims of the tragedy immediately upon arrival in North Carolina. “We are always with you,” he added.

Speaking at the Cherry Point Air Force Base, the President expressed his gratitude to the staff of various cooperating agencies involved in coping with the consequences of the disaster: police, firefighters, rescue workers, Coast Guard.
The head of the Emergency Situations Department, Brock Long, reported to the President on the progress of the restoration.
“The planning that took place in this case is simply unbelievable,” Trump said.
The President assured that everything that needs to be done to restore the affected areas at the federal level will be done.
“What about (your) house?” He asked one of the residents of the city, adding: “Take care of yourself.” To the other, who stood in line for food, the president wished “to have a good time.”

Trump also asked a question about the area north of Charlotte, which owns a golf course. “How are things at Lake Norman?” He asked.
“I love these places. I can't say why, but I love these places, ”Trump added.
Recall that on the eve of the president praised the actions of rescue services in the fight against Hurricane Florence. “Everyone says how well we act in connection with Hurricane Florence - and they are one hundred percent right,” the president wrote on Twitter.
During the conversation with journalists that took place before the departure, Trump touched on a number of political issues. In particular, he said that for many reasons he was disappointed by the prosecutor general Seshns.
Focusing on the nomination of Brett Cavanaugh for the post of member of the Supreme Court and accusations of unacceptable acts of a sexual nature, allegedly committed by the nominee a few decades ago, Trump said that it was up to the Senate to decide on how to react to these accusations.
The President regretted that the accusation of Cavanaugh - Christine Blazy Ford - does not intend to speak at the Senate Law Committee.
Referring to the decision to cooperate with the team of special prosecutor Robert Muller in the framework of the “Russian investigation”, which was recently accepted by the ex-manager of Trump’s campaign headquarters, Paul Manafort, the president expressed his conviction that Manafort would be telling the truth.
In addition, the US media quoted Trump, on Wednesday, again criticizing the FBI's “Russian investigation.” The president called him "cancer in our country." “I hope that I can present it as one of my main achievements ... to show that I was able to ... bring to the open water something that is truly cancer in our country," said Trump.
