The American automaker Tesla announced that the prices for the Model 3 sedan will be reduced by 6%, to $ 35 thousand. After closing retail stores and switching to online sales, writes RBC.

“Over the next few months, we will wind down many of our stores,” said the company’s website.

At the same time a small part of the stores will continue to work in places with high traffic, stressed in Tesla. The company did not name the number of stores waiting for closure, and did not specify how many employees would be reduced.

“It is important for US customers to understand that, thanks to online sales, anyone in any state can quickly and easily buy Tesla,” the report said.

Tesla noted that they intend to develop their service centers so that customers can receive service "on the same day, if not at the same hour."

The company said they want to simplify the return of cars. This can be done within seven days after purchase, provided that the car does not pass more than 1 thousand miles during this time. "In the literal sense, you can buy a Tesla, drive a few hundred miles on a weekend trip with friends, and then return it for free," - say in Tesla.

As noted by Bloomberg, after the announcement of the transition to online sales of Tesla shares fell by 4,1% to $ 306,8 per share.

In mid-January, the company announced that it would cut about 7% of its employees. The head of Tesla, Ilon Musk, said then that 2018 was the most difficult year, but also the most successful in the company's history. So, for the fourth quarter Tesla managed to collect 86,5 thousand cars, but, despite the record revenue of $ 21,3 billion, the company's losses amounted to $ 976 million (2017 th Tesla ended up in the red by $ 1,9 billion).
