The project has started - Novodvorskaya’s work in three volumes

The Zakharov Publishing House and the Yegor Gaidar Foundation have begun raising funds to publish a three-volume work of Valeria Novodvorskaya.

“Our plans are to publish a three-volume book with a circulation of 2000 copies; if the project receives a large amount, we will increase the circulation. First of all, we offer future readers and admirers of Valeria Ilyinichna’s talent the opportunity to “pre-order” the three-volume book at the publishing price - half the cost in stores,” the message says.

“What we are collecting for: to implement the project we need 2 million 300 thousand rubles. They will be used for collecting and digitizing materials, pre-press preparation and printing costs,” write the authors of the project.

“...At the age of 9, Lera wrote, paraphrasing the classic: “And our names will be written on the bones of Soviet power.” And at 18 she created an underground anti-Soviet student group.

In 1969, at a party in the Kremlin Palace of Congresses, she scattered handwritten leaflets with anti-communist verses. It turned out in Lefortovo prison. Was convicted. Passed forced treatment in special hospitals. Released on 22 of the year - gray.

Engaged in replication and distribution of samizdat. I tried to create an underground political party to fight the CPSU. Subjected to systematic persecution of authorities, interrogations, searches.
Under Gorbachev - 17 arrests for 15 days. Under Yeltsin, several criminal cases were terminated for lack of corpus delicti.

“My personal destiny is a pure experiment on the subject of what happens to a person who is fighting for something from morning to evening. And honestly fights, gets nothing for it, except for beatings, and refuses to emigrate under any conditions ...

This is not a policy. It is just a dissidence. This is resistance. Our life is such that a decent person must be a dissident. ”

Dissident, free-thinker, political figure, one of the founders of the first opposition party - the Democratic Union, human rights activist, “bourgeois revolutionary”, nonconformist, anti-communist, anti-fascist, “catacomb historian” ...

“I do not want to understand anything for myself - I have already proved everything to myself. I do not want to renounce their installations. And let them not correspond to world relations: so much the worse for world relations. ”

And - a brilliant publicist.

All my life, Valeria Novodvorskaya wrote: leaflets and appeals, pamphlets and reports, essays, essays and articles. She wrote by hand, with a blueprint, spreading secretly, each time risking her freedom and life for free speech and a daring thought.

“Andropov came running to the Politburo with my latest leaflets: “You say that we have no enemies of the people, that no one wants capitalism, no one wants to overthrow the Soviet regime, but look, it’s black and white!”

The publication of these materials, as well as the open work of Valeria Ilinichna in the press, became possible only at the end of 80, when the Union collapsed, censorship disappeared and independent media appeared. Since then - and until his last days - Novodvorskaya collaborated with many publications: “New Look”, “Interlocutor”, “Newspaper of the Russian Businessman”, “Host”, “New Siberia”, “Foreigner”, “Moskovsky Komsomolets”, “ Interlocutor, Novoye Vremya, OM, America Illustrated, Komok, The New Times, Grani.ru, gave an interview to Svoboda and Ekho Moskvy radio stations, performed - while they were called - on television.

Thousands of pages of various texts, a series of historical lectures, dozens of essays, and several books came out from under her talented and brave pen.

If you try to publish everything that was ever written Novodvorskaya, you get a multi-volume collection of works. We decided to publish only selected texts, providing them with rare documents and archival photos.

So, there are three voluminous volumes.

VOLUME I: autobiography of Valeria Ilyinichna and her publications of the 80s - early 90s, articles from newspapers, “Svobodnoe Slovo” and “Morning of Russia”

TOM II: 1990 – 2000's materials.

VOLUME III: a series of historical lectures given fifteen years ago to students of the Russian State University for the Humanities, and a series of essays about writers - in fact, two alternative textbooks on history and literature.

Essays about Russian writers Valeria Ilinichna intended to publish a separate book, entitled "The Temple in the Swamp".
