The United States has banned the supply of equipment to Gazprom's field

The USA included one of the largest Russian oil and gas fields on the shelf in the sanctions list for Russia.

The relevant information was published on the eve of the US Federal Register government magazine.

“The Bureau of Industry and Security adds the Russian oil and gas field, the Yuzhno-Kirinskoye field, located in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, to the list of enterprises subject to sanctions,” the decision states.

Inclusion of the object in the list of US sanctions means that the US government prohibits state, as well as private individuals and companies from entering into any business relationship with the sanctioned object.

“The U.S. Government has determined that the export, reexport, and domestic transfer of any export-regulated equipment for this mine by any person without the prior consent of the Bureau of Industry and Security poses a risk of violating sectoral sanctions against Russia,” the document says.

The Yuzhno-Kirinskoye gas condensate field was discovered in 2010. At the moment it is part of Gazprom’s Sakhalin-3 project. Yuzhno-Kirinskoye's reserves amount to almost 640 billion cubic meters of gas and 97 million tons of condensate. Oil reserves at the field amount to 464 million tons.

This decision was followed a week after the next toughening of sanctions against Russia by the United States. Then the list was expanded with new personal sanctions against the Russians, some Ukrainians and even a Finnish citizen. Also in the list of sanctions were new companies, including the Ukrainian bank.

Sanctions against Russia were imposed by the USA, the European Union and some other countries (Australia, Japan, Canada, Norway and so on) in several stages in 2014.

After the annexation of the Crimea USA и EC introduced personal sanctions against politicians and other citizens of Russia and Ukraine, who are responsible for approving the undermining of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Their accounts (if any) were frozen, they were denied entry into the States and the European Union countries.

Higher-level sanctions - economic - were introduced in the summer of 2014 (a number of US economic sanctions were introduced in the spring - ed.), After the proclamation on the territory of Ukraine with the support of Russia of the “republics of the DPR and the LPR”, as well as the start of military operations, the supply of military equipment for pro-Russian separatists across the border of Ukraine, of which the Ukrainian side and NATO have repeatedly accused Russia.

In response to Western sanctions, Russia also introduced restrictive measures: it introduced supply ban almost all food products from Western countries, and also created a response list of US and EU citizens banned from entering Russia.
