The Pentagon announced that the first test of a missile defense system to repel an intercontinental ballistic missile strike (ICBM) was successful.

“Intercepting the complex threat of ICBMs is a huge success,” Vice Admiral Jimi Syring of the Missile Defense Agency was quoted as saying.Voice of America«.

US President Donald Trump tweeted that "North Korea has shown great disrespect for its neighbor, China, by launching another ballistic missile." At the same time, Trump paid tribute to China for the fact that he was “struggling” to curb the military ambitions of North Korea.

US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said Tuesday that the Trump administration believes that China is working “behind the scenes” with North Korea on its nuclear program, and that the United States will maintain pressure on China.

Haley also noted that the United States and China are discussing the timing of a regular resolution to tighten sanctions against North Korea.

The launch of the North Korean rocket on Monday was the third missile test for the 3 week, which Pyongyang spent contrary to UN resolutions.
