US extended sanctions against Russia: more than 80 companies banned

The US Department of Commerce posted a list of companies that would be subject to restrictions on exports from the United States. It included both Russian companies and firms registered in Asia.

Just a list that is posted for review on the site Federal Register and will be published on Wednesday, listed as 81 company under 86 names. Most of them were on the Sanctions List of the US Treasury Department from 1 September. However, 11 companies mentioned in the Ministry of Trade document did not specify the Ministry of Finance before.

The list included: “Angstrem M”, “Angstrem”, “Angstrem-T”, “Foreign Economic Association Radioexport”, Perm Scientific-Production Instrument-Making Company, “Mikron”, AO NPF “Mikran”, SPC “Granat”, “Technopol” ".

Also on the list were companies like Giovan Ltd and Technopole Ltd, with addresses in India and Hong Kong.

The US Department of Commerce explained the listing of these 11 companies in that they work in the "Russian arms sector or related logistics sectors." The legal basis for the listing of companies is the 13661 decree of US President Barack Obama on the “Crimean” sanctions.

Entry to the Entity List of the Ministry of Commerce of the United States implies a particularly strict US export control regime. If someone wants to legally sell companies from this list of any “sensitive” goods of American origin, the US Department of Commerce will refuse to supply a license.

In fact, this means a ban on the delivery of any product or software of US origin, which is subject to US export control rules (Export Administration Regulation). The rules also prohibit the re-export and transfer of such goods within Russia, that is, all companies, regardless of their nationality and country of dispatch, must comply with the restrictions if the product is of American origin.
