Apple employees quit if FBI wins trial
New York Times reported on the desire of some Apple employees to resist the FBI, which requires developers to create a special version of iOS to bypass the iPhone lock.
Employees are ready to quit if the FBI does win the trial and will continue to demand the creation of a program to bypass the iPhone. However, not all workers are ready for such drastic actions. Some are going to stop all their projects and developments and just skip working hours until the situation is settled.
“There is still a culture of freedom and rebellion here [in the company],” said Apple’s former executive director Jean-Louis Gasse. “If the government tries to get the staff to dance to their tune, well, I wish them good luck.”
This state of affairs will create difficulties for the FBI. To write the required software, a team of highly qualified employees is required. Apple calculated their number - from 6 to 10 employees.
The publication writes that before the real formation of the team is still far.
