Sun, sea and change of scenery: Italy offers $15 to move to Sardinia

You can settle in one of the many towns and villages on the island, find a new job, and even get a government grant of 15 euros (almost $000).

The island's population is declining as young locals go abroad in search of work. The Italian population is aging - the average age of Italians is currently 45,7 years, and by 2050 this figure is expected to rise to 50,7. This problem is particularly acute in rural areas of the country and in places like Sardinia.

Thus, according to the president of Sardinia, Cristian Solinas, by allocating an amount of 15 euros, they are trying to give an incentive to young people to settle on the island or stay there forever and build a family.

To be eligible for a grant, you must first move to a municipality in Sardinia with a population of less than 3000 and also use the amount to buy or renovate a house. However, please note that the subsidy cannot exceed half of the total cost of the home or renovation. Another condition for receiving this amount is to register for permanent residence in Sardinia within 18 months of arrival.
