Портал Finder.com conducted a study in 78 US cities to find out how much local people need to earn in order to afford buying a home in their city.

As it turned out, you need to earn the most in two cities in the Californian Bay Area - San Francisco and San Jose.

The authors of the study took into account such indicators as home value, costs on construction housing, mortgage loan activity, interest rate, monthly payments и the required salary.

It turned out that in order to purchase an average San Francisco home worth about 1,1 million dollars, you would need an income of 180,5 thousand per year.

In San Jose, standard real estate, which is estimated at about 800 thousand dollars, is available to those who earn about 130 thousand per year.

The study did not include another California city, Oakland, and the state's capital, Sacramento, fell to 19th place compared to last year's ranking.

Jackson, Mississippi turned out to be the most accessible among the cities studied, whose residents can afford a house for 43 thousand dollars for a salary in 62 thousand.

San Francisco and San Jose are also among the ten most accessible cities (in descending order) Los Angeles, Washington, San Diego, New York, Seattle, Worchester, and Denver.
