The giant lizard is terrorizing the family in Florida for several days, officials from the wildlife agency, hunters and hunting dogs could not catch it.

According to the Florida Fish and Fauna Commission, an Asian lizard has created problems for the family, which can weigh up to 150 pounds (68 kg), writes Fox News.

The reptile was first spotted by Zachery Lieberman behind the house in which his family lives. He contacted the Florida Fish and Fauna Commission.

A few days later, the lizard began to scratch the back door of the family house, startling his wife and children 4 and 2 for years.

Lieberman went outside and tried to lure the lizard to the garage, hoping to close it inside. The reptile followed him, but going up to the building, the lizard very quickly ran away.

“Her speed really scares me now; if she can run away quickly, then she can run to someone quickly,” Lieberman said, fearing for his young children.

According to him, children are afraid to leave the house, because in the backyard "lives a dinosaur."

Starting in 26 in August, representatives of the state wildlife agency and local hunters tried to catch the lizard, using the dead rodents to lure, but the reptile was never caught.

A friend’s hunting dog, Lieberman, found a lizard and chased it to a nearby lake, but managed to hide from them in the water.

Asian lizards, according to experts, can become aggressive. Historically, they are not reptiles living in Florida. They usually feed on birds, fish and small animals.

“Like most wildlife, Asian lizards can become aggressively defensive if a person or pet tries to approach them,” the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said.

If the lizard is caught, it will be put to sleep or given to some wildlife park. The decision about her fate will be taken by biologists after the capture.

But at the moment the family from Florida is frightened by what is happening and is trying its best to catch the reptile.
