Sears is closing another 46 stores in the US: list

Sears, a well-known retail chain, has announced plans to close its 46 stores in the United States.

Closing shops are subject to Sears and Kmart, writes CNN.

In 2018, the company, trying to cope with economic losses, has already closed more than 100 stores, including the latest Sears outlets in the hometown of the retailer Chicago.

Kmart and 13 Sears staff at 33 stores were notified that retail outlets would be closed by November. Liquidation sales in some stores will begin on August 30.

When Sears and Kmart merged in 2005, they had a total of about 3500 stores in the United States. At the moment, after several closures, 900 stores continue to operate, and the likelihood of further closures is still high.

The Sears network has lost 11,2 billion dollars since 2010 of the year, which was the retailer's last profitable year.

The company is considering selling its assets as a way to raise money. Shares of Sears (SHLD) are down 85% over the past year. The company's shares hit a record low of $1,09 per share on August 23 amid news of a new wave of store closures.
