In Arizona, police unveiled a video on which came the moment of the fatal collision of a self-driving Uber with a pedestrian in Arizona.

A video posted by police in Tampa on Wednesday shows that the car was traveling at a speed of 61 km / h in the 72 km / h zone on a relatively empty road on Sunday evening, March 18.

A woman who was crossing the road, holding a bicycle in her hands, suddenly appeared in the driver’s field of vision several seconds before the impact.

The self-driving car did not brake, and the driver took no action.

As a result of the accident, the woman died. She was later identified as 49-year-old Elaine Herzberg.

The police also released a video showing the driver himself, Rafaela Vazquez. A few seconds before the collision, she was looking not at the road, as expected, but down and to the side.

The shots seem to confirm Vasquez’s assertions that she was agitated during the trip and could not have prevented a fatal collision.

She told the police that Herzberg, who was serving a prison sentence for drug-related crimes, jumped out in front of her with a bicycle and several bags, but she didn’t have time to brake before a collision.

Earlier this week, it turned out that Vasquez had two criminal convictions when she was hired Uber to test their self-propelled machines in Phoenix, Arizona.

She was tried for an attempted armed robbery in January 2001 of the year and was sentenced to five years in prison, from where she was released in November 2004.

Vasquez also tried to rob a video store Blockbuster with the help of imitation firearms.

At the same time, Vazquez was found guilty of giving false testimony to government officials in 1999, for which she received a prison sentence of one year.

During problems with the law, she was known as Raphael and identified herself as a man. About when she became a woman is unknown.
