47-year-old Zhou Kunfei, founder and CEO Lens Technologyproducing screens for iPhone, is the youngest billionaire woman in the world who has created her state from scratch.

Kunfey’s assets are estimated at 9 billions of dollars, which makes her not only the youngest billionaire woman who made herself, but also the richest woman on earth who created the state from scratch, writes Time.

Zhou Kunfei established her business in China, a country that is home to most women billionaires. This was made possible thanks to the commitment of the Chinese Communist Party to gender equality.

Kunfei grew up on a farm. In 16 years she left school to start working in a factory for the production of lenses for watches. There she achieved some success and was able to move up the career ladder. Having saved up several thousand dollars, in 1993, at the age of 22, she founded her own glass processing company.

Over the next 10 years, its business grew slowly but steadily. Then, one day in 2003, Kunfey received a call from Motorola, a mobile phone company that wanted to develop a damage-proof screen for its new Razr V3 phone. She agreed to this project, thereby starting a new direction in the work of the company, which became the main one.

Now orders for the production of screens for smartphones come in Lens Technology from such device manufacturers as HTC, Nokia, Samsung and Apple.

Thanks to this, Zhou's company was able to attract more funds and hire the best technicians. Within five years, it had new factories in three cities.

Today the company's value is estimated at $11 billion, and Kunfei's fortune is $9,2 billion. Lens Technology has at least 32 plant in 7 different cities and employs more than 90 000 employees.
