The phenomenon happens, as a rule, once every two or three years. Its name comes from the English idiom Once in a Blue Moon, meaning the rarity of any situation. Sometimes with this phenomenon, the satellite of the Earth seems to the observer to change its color as a result of atmospheric phenomena.
