Russia recognized the impossibility of catching up with the US in the space sector
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that increasing productivity by half will not help Russia catch up with the US in the space industry.
“Well, we’ll increase it by one and a half times, but still they will never be caught up with,” said Rogozin at the board of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, noting that today Russia is nine times behind the Americans in this area.
According to the vice-premier, if the Russian industry does not fight with the bureaucracy, then the Russians will “look at NASA and Ilona Mask”.
In April, 2014, when Western countries, including the United States, began to impose sanctions against Moscow, Rogozin advised the Americans to deliver their astronauts to the ISS using a trampoline. Speaking of restrictions against the rocket and space industry in Russia, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed that with the help of sanctions, the US is trying to "clean up the Russian industrial services markets."
Ilon Musk is a billionaire, the head of aerospace company SpaceX. The corporation is developing several projects: the partially reusable launch vehicles Falcon-9 (in April for the first time managed to plant return stage to the sea platform) and Dragon - the only existing cargo spacecraft in the world, capable of returning to Earth.
