In Ukraine, the court arrested Yanukovych’s cufflinks and Mezhigorye’s values

The Pechersk District Court seized historical, cultural and material values ​​found in the Mezhyhirya residence of Viktor Yanukovych after his escape from Ukraine in February 2014. This decision of July 29 is contained in the state register of court decisions.

The decision was made at the request of an investigator from the Prosecutor General's Office. The decision does not indicate names, but from the content it can be understood that “Person 1” is ex-President Viktor Yanukovych, who lived in Mezhyhirya.

The prosecutor’s office explains its goal by providing potential civil lawsuits for victims for damages caused by crimes that Yanukovych is reasonably suspected of. It was established that during the period February-March 2014, all valuables were transferred for temporary storage to the National Art Museum.

By its decision, the court prohibited the National Art Museum of Ukraine to perform any actions related to the alienation of the said property.

In total, the list of seized property contains 516 items. Among the valuables included in the list are religious books, including: “The Apostle” by Fedorov from 1574; “The Lenten Triodion”, published in 1589 in Moscow; “The Gospel”, published in 1704 in Lvov; "Gospel", published in 1745 in Lvov; “Apostle (Acts and Epistles of the Holy Apostles)”, published in 1654 in Lvov; “General Menaion”, published in 1680 in the printing house of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

Also on the list are icons made mainly in the 1875th and 1839th centuries. The most ancient: “Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary” (late XNUMXth century); “The Transfiguration of the Lord with the Saints” (II half of the XNUMXth century, Russia); “Our Lady of the Quick to Hear” (early XNUMXth century, Athos). In addition, among the valuables are sculptures, candlesticks, candelabra of the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries. And also – Aivazovsky’s painting “View of Feodosia on a Moonlit Night,” painted in XNUMX; Karl Morgenstern’s painting “View of the Anio Valley at Tivoli,” painted in XNUMX in Germany, and other paintings.

Cufflinks with the initials of “Person 1”, that is, Yanukovych, are also classified as material assets.

Let us recall that Yanukovych himself stated that Mezhyhirya is foreign property and does not belong to Ukraine. The Prosecutor General's Office, through the court, demands that the residence lands be returned to state ownership. Part of Yanukovych's lands has already been returned to the state.

It is assumed that after Yanukovych left Ukraine in February 2014, he is in Russia.
