Russian hackers are suspected of attacking the French TV channel TV5
French police claim that the cyberattack on the international channel TV5 Monde, for which supporters of the radical Islamic State group claimed responsibility, was actually carried out by hackers from Russia.
The hacking of TV5 Monde's online resources took place on the evening of April 8. As a result, the broadcasting of the TV channels included in the media group was suspended until the morning of April 9.
Jihadist propaganda was posted on the site. It took more than 12 hours to eliminate the consequences of hacking.
According to the French press, police now consider the Russian hacker group APT28, which is also believed to be involved in attacks on the White House, NATO member countries and Ukrainian activists, as suspects.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, in April, called the attack of hackers a blow to the freedom to spread information.
At the same time, Interior Minister Bernard Kaznev promised that the authorities of the country would do everything possible to prevent the recurrence of such attacks. Carrying out the attack hackers Minister equated to terrorists.
