Russian planes hit the positions of the Islamic State

Syrian forces used Russian aircraft, reported by Western media, to launch airstrikes on Islamic State positions in Aleppo province.

The Syrian Center for Human Rights, located in London, told Reuters about the beginning of the bombing of positions of the terrorist organization Islamic State, banned in Russia, using new Russian aircraft.

According to the center, airstrikes were carried out this week on the outskirts of Qveyris airbase, located in the east of Aleppo province. The operation to unblock the airbase surrounded by IS militants was carried out with the support of ground forces, the center noted.

The Russian planes were flown by Syrian pilots, the center stressed, which receives information from Syria through a network of informants in that country.

According to AFP sources in the US government, by September 21 Russia deployed 28 fighters and bombers at an airfield near the city of Latakia in eastern Syria. An agency source in the Syrian army confirmed on September 22 receiving at least five fighters and a reconnaissance aircraft, as well as high-precision missiles and target designation devices. The interlocutor of AFP also noted that with the help of the weapons obtained, attacks on the IG positions had already been dealt.

Informed sources of Bloomberg told the agency that Russian President Vladimir Putin would give the order to the Russian Air Force to attack IG positions in Syria if the United States refuses to cooperate with Moscow, Tehran and Assad in the fight against terrorism. A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, called the reports about Russia's possible participation in the IG bombing "speculations."
