Russian cosmonauts filmed their walk in outer space
Roskosmos on its official channel on the YouTube network showed a video of a spacewalk of Russian cosmonauts Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Kornienko.
"Space Walk" took place on 10 August 2015 of the year. Outside the space of the International Space Station, the Russians spent five and a half hours. The video presented is recorded on a GoPro camera.
During the exit, the astronauts carried out a photo inspection of the outer surface of the ISS, cleaned the windows of the Zvezda module from contamination and installed a new docking radio antenna.
Also in the framework of the experiment “Environment”, astronauts obtained data from equipment installed in 2013 on the outer surface of the ISS. This information will allow to understand the interaction of the station with cosmic radiation and plasma.
For Kornienko, the perfect spacewalk was the second, for Padalka - the absolute record holder of the time spent in outer space - the tenth.
In total, Padalka was in open space outside the ISS for more than a day. On Saturday, September 12, he returned to Earth. The total duration of a Russian’s stay in Earth orbit is 878 days.
