US reaction to the report of the Buk developer on the downed Boeing
The US Department of State commented on the just-announced report of the Russian concern Air Defense "Almaz-Antey" and containing the conclusion that the Malaysian airliner shot down over the Donetsk region 17 on July 2014, was hit by a Buk-M1 rocket.
“Our estimates were clear from the very beginning - that the Malaysian MH17 flight was hit by a ground-to-air missile launched from a territory controlled by separatists in eastern Ukraine,” said Mari Harf, an adviser to the Secretary of State for Strategic Communications. “We are convinced,” Harf continued, “that not one of Ukraine’s air defense systems was within reach of the crash site, and that throughout the duration of the conflict, the Ukrainian military did not launch a single ground-to-air missile.”
As the adviser to the Secretary of State stressed, “the Russian version has changed - at first they said that it was not the Buk rocket. Now they suddenly say that it was a rocket, but it was not they. ”“ I think that the truth of their statements is not 100%, ”said Mari Harf.
