Putin gave Ukraine an ultimatum

The ex-president of Ukraine and a representative of the tripartite contact group on Donbass, Leonid Kuchma, in an interview with the Voice of Ukraine newspaper, said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had set an ultimatum to Kiev: stop resistance or lose statehood.

“The President of Russia behaved as if there were no agreements in Minsk. We were actually given an ultimatum. Either we accept its terms and stop any resistance, or we cease to exist as an independent state. He made it clear that he would not stop at any losses or expenses in achieving his goal, and this goal of his is now quite obvious,” said the second Ukrainian president.

He stressed that this ultimatum was delivered not only to Ukraine, but also to the entire Western world.
