The next president of the United States will be Donald Trump. So thinks Professor Allan Lichtmen, who correctly predicts the winners of the popular vote of all presidential elections since 1984, writes The washhtonton post.

The professor built his forecast on the method, which he gave the name "Keys to the White House". This method includes 13 items. Thanks to them, the winner is determined. Among them are: the majority of the party in the House of Representatives, the candidate’s charisma, the economic situation in the country, international politics and military operations abroad.

According to the professor, 5 from 13 “keys” points to the defeat of the Democrats: the Republicans won the midterm elections to Congress in 2014, the inability to participate in the election race of the current head of state Barack Obama, the lack of major internal reforms and significant successes in foreign policy during his second presidential term, as well as a lack of charisma from Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

According to the Lichtman technique, as reported SlowDemocrats will lose their chance to win the elections if they have six “keys” against them. The decisive factor can be the participation in the election of a candidate for the Libertarian party, Gary Johnson, provided that at least 5% of voters vote for him.

At the same time, the expert acknowledged that the nomination of a billionaire as a candidate from the Republican Party made the outcome of the elections the most difficult to predict in the last 32 of the year. “We have never seen a candidate like Donald Trump before, and Trump could well break the historical patterns that existed since 1860 of the year,” he pointed out.

Litchtman is the author and co-author of 9 books and more 100 articles. His “Keys to the White House” methodology is based on the correlation of the points indicated in them with the results of the presidential elections from 1860 to 1980. This method allowed Lichtman to predict, among other things, George W. Bush’s victory in the 2000 elections of the year, when he won fewer votes than his Democrat opponent, Al Gore.

The next US presidential election will be held on November 8.
