Russian oppositionist Garry Kasparov presents a book in San Francisco
The presentation of the book “Winter is Coming Soon: Why Vladimir Putin and the enemies of the free world must be stopped” will take place in San Francisco on November 16. The author of the book is the chairman of the Foundation for Human Rights, the ex-world chess champion Garry Kasparov.
He has been a critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin for more than a decade. Garry Kasparov even fought against him during the controversial presidential campaign in 2008, representing democratic forces. He believes that the accession of Vladimir Putin, a former KGB lieutenant colonel, to the presidency of Russia in 1999 was a signal that the country had strayed from the path of democracy, and that the current “Putinist” Russia was pitting itself against other free countries.
Kasparov calls for a decisive opposition to Putin, both by diplomatic and economic means.
The presentation will take place at: 555 Post Street, San Francisco.
Registration time: 18.00, start of program with 18: 30, autograph session with 19: 30.
