The flow of Russian tourists abroad has almost halved
The number of Russian tourists abroad in the first quarter of 2015 decreased by 40 percent compared to the same period last year. About it сообщается on the website of the Federal Agency for Tourism. In total, 1,89 million people left Russia for the purpose of rest (in the year 2014 there were 3,18 million). The total number of Russians who went abroad amounted to 6,5 million people.
The biggest fall was in Tunisia and Indonesia, in which the tourist flow from Russia fell by more than 90 percent. The only country in which the number of Russian tourists has increased is Romania.
The most popular countries among Russians are Egypt (402 thousand people), Thailand (185 thousand people), Germany (141 thousand people), United Arab Emirates (107 thousand people) and Italy (101 thousand people). At the same time, Egypt lost 26 percent of the tourist flow, and Turkey, to which 72 thousands of people went, 36 percent.
Earlier, it became known that about 65 percent of Russians will spend their summer holidays at home. According to experts, the European destinations accounted for 15 percent of booking. Another ten percent of summer flights will be committed by Russians to the CIS countries.
