As of January 13, the flu epidemic in the United States has spread to 49 states, with the exception of the Hawaiian Islands.

The epidemic is caused by the H3N2 strain of the influenza virus, which usually causes more hospitalizations and deaths than other strains.

Doctors urge those who have not yet been vaccinated to get themselves vaccinated urgently.

Especially, vaccination is necessary for people at risk: the elderly, children up to two years old, pregnant women and people with chronic diseases.
