Survey: Russians consider the United States a country of moral decay

Most Russians are extremely negative about the US government. This is evidenced by the results surveyspent from 25 to 26 July. Only three percent of the study participants admitted to being friendly with the United States.

In general, as sociologists point out, the level of hostility towards the United States has increased dramatically compared to 90 years. At that time, two percent of Russians declared a negative attitude towards Washington.

Fifteen percent of those surveyed described America as a country of moral decay with a high crime rate. The same number of respondents believe that there is no “human warmth” in relations between Americans. Nine percent are convinced that racial discrimination exists in the country.

Twelve percent of Russians recognized the United States as a country with a high standard of living, and eleven percent of respondents indicated significant differences between the rich and the poor. A number of respondents also noted the development of science and technology in the United States (seven percent), another five percent of the inhabitants of Russia believe that there is a free society in the United States.

In total, 1600 people in 130 locations in 46 regions of Russia took part in the survey. The margin of error does not exceed 3,5 percent.
