Obama plans to stay in Washington after the deadline
US President Barack Obama and his family will live in Washington after they leave the White House - at least for a while.
On Thursday, meeting in Milwaukee with people who wrote letters to him, Obama answered the question about what he was going to do after leaving the presidency.
“We will probably stay in Washington for a couple of years so that Sasha can finish school,” he said. “It’s difficult to transfer to another school in high school.”
Obama's daughters attend a private school in Washington. Malia is finishing the last class and is expected to go to college next year. Sasha at the time of Obama’s resignation in January 2017 will study in the 10 class, and she finishes school in 2019.
The first lady of the United States, defending the privacy of her family, refused to discuss specific plans. The Obama family also refused to talk about where they would live after Sasha finished school.
Most of the presidents of America return to their states after the end of the presidency, although some begin a new life elsewhere. So, George Bush returned to Texas, and Bill Clinton moved to New York instead of Arkansas so that his wife could run for the Senate.
