Obama: being a president is a serious job, not a reality show
Barack Obama said that during the upcoming presidential elections in November, he sees his task as the need to remind voters that being the president of the United States is a serious job, not a reality show.
So he clearly hinted at the television career of Donald Trump, who provided himself a chance to become a Republican presidential candidate. As Obama said in an interview with the channel NBC, Trump as president will bring harm to the whole country.
In the same interview, Obama commented for the first time on the results of the Democratic party elections. The day before, Hillary Clinton secured his victory over Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
“I hope we can come together in the coming weeks,” Obama said. “During primaries, it often happens that people become very sensitive,” the president added.
Obama expressed the hope that Sanders would soon admit defeat, which would restore unity in the ranks of the Democratic Party.
On Wednesday it became known that Clinton typed a sufficient number of votes of delegates of the party congress to become the first woman in the history nominated by a large party for the presidency of the United States.
Clinton called her victory a historic milestone for all women and noted that it was a “victory for generations.”
Her main rival Bernie Sanders refused to admit defeat, citing the fact that the final democrats in Washington (DC) will be held only next week.
