Deadly accidents on the US roads
The number of traffic accidents in 2015 increased by 14% in accordance with new data of the National Security Council.
This means that 2015 could be the deadliest year for drivers since 2007.
From January to June 2015, 18600 people died in car accidents. By comparison, 2014 fatalities occurred during this period of the 16400 year.
The National Safety Council's press release put the estimated cost of the accident at $152 billion. This is an increase of 24 percent over the same period in 2014.
By costs is meant: wages and disability, medical expenses, administrative expenses, expenses of the employer, property damage.
The organization associates an increase in the number of road accidents with an increase in the number of drivers. This is due to the fact that gasoline has fallen in price by 30% compared with last year.
Also in the US, more and more jobs are being created, which affects the number of passengers in transport.
Debora Hersman, president of the National Security Council, said mobile phones are often responsible for the fatal crashes. Drivers are constantly distracted by their driving, although in many states they are forbidden to use while driving.
