He recalled that the document refers to the right of states to take measures to protect the confidentiality of any information related to civilian and military activities and objects obtained in the course of control activities.

He noted that there is no danger to the life and health of the population in the affected region in connection with the incident.

“According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Arkhangelsk Region, the radiation background in the mentioned area is at a natural normal level,” Karpov said.

He added that “there is no talk of any environmental disaster, as some media outlets are trying to present, either in the area of ​​the incident or beyond.”
