EC wants Syrian refugee problems solved by US and Russia

The refugee crisis is spreading throughout Europe. And this problem cannot be solved without cooperation with the United States, Russia and the countries of the Middle East.

This was stated by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, after European leaders promised to provide 1,1 a billion dollars to help refugees. The Chancellor added that the solution to this problem is possible after solving problems in Syria itself.

“This can only happen with the support of our transatlantic partners, the United States of America, as well as Russia and states in the Middle East due to the dire situation in Syria,” she said.

Iran and Saudi Arabia should also be key players in the negotiations, Merkel is sure.

The United States and Russia have differences in resolving the Syrian issue. The country has been in a state of civil war between government forces, the opposition and the Islamists for four years. Russian President Vladimir Putin in the stream of refugees from Syria blames Western foreign policy.

The US and European governments condemn Putin for supporting the regime of President Bashar Assad and for the Russian military presence in Syria.

Secretary of State John Kerry said that the US is open for talks with Assad if he ultimately gives up power.
