Lavrov overshadowed a meeting with Kerry with his gifts
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Sochi, presented him with Krasnodar tomatoes and potatoes as a gift, said Maria Zakharova, deputy head of the information and press department at the Foreign Ministry.
“Lavrov gave Kerry Krasnodar tomatoes and potatoes, which are distantly related to the one that his American colleague once brought him,” Zakharova wrote on her Facebook page.
According to her, Kerry also received a T-shirt with the symbols of Victory as a gift from Lavrov.
In turn, the head of the State Department presented his Russian counterpart with a list of quotes from the Russian media that, in his opinion, do not reflect the real potential of large-scale Russian-American relations, Zakharova added.
