NCSC, a subsidiary of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), the British e-tapping agency, also issued a warning to the public.

Private cybersecurity expert Patrick Wardle said official warnings are “really good advice. When I travel to Russia, I bring one-day devices, so if you hack them, it doesn't matter much. ”

One-day devices are usually purchased for temporary use and then discarded.

US agencies issued similar warnings to other major international sporting events, including the recent Winter Olympics in Seoul.
