How does a Ukrainian family live with 15 children in California

Vasily and Inna Golub hail from Lugansk. They met when Inna was 13 years old, and got married through 5 years, when the girl turned 18 years old. It is from that time every year or two in the family appears own child. All in all 15 family of children and not a single twin or twin.

Spouses argue that they don’t even have a different life, since both are from large families.

“I come from a big family and was one of the eldest. I had my younger brothers and sisters on me. From the age of 8, my mother forced me to help her a lot, especially around the house. And I enrolled the children in school and went to hospitals with them,” Inna recalls. — When we had our own children, there were no problems. I knew what had to be done and how.”

The first 8 children were born in Ukraine. The family came to the United States as refugees. The reason for the move was their Protestant faith. “My husband’s father served three terms - 12 years. And my father served 4 years,” says Inna.

In the US, at that moment finding a place for 10 people was hard, just like a job. For more than a year, they received state aid and delivered newspapers. Over time, opened a kindergarten at home. Vasily got a taxi driver.

Parents help children, who than can.

“I do dishes, laundry, repairs and clean the house a little,” says son Thomas. But Margarita is responsible for the health of the family; she takes the children to the doctors if necessary. All children help with daily work, but still have time for music, sports and entertainment.

“We really love spending time together,” says Inna. — We’re going to the lake, to the campsite. At one time we traveled with tents, but now we bought a trailer.”

Inna and Vasily say that they are not ideal parents. The plot from the movie “Home Alone” is familiar to them like no one else.

“One time we forgot Taras. We went to church, and when we returned, we could not find him. Everything was searched. And then the children remembered. that we didn’t take him to work. We returned, and he was sitting at home,” Inna recalls with a smile.

Children say that their classmates find it hard to believe that they have so many brothers and sisters.

Children say that a large family is good, but they do not want to have so many children in the future. "No. No. Maybe five,” Thomas said.

Inna and Vasily are sympathetic to the choice of their children and do not impose on anyone the idea of ​​a large family.
