Heavy snowfall is expected in New York due to winter storm stella, in connection with which the city closed schools and canceled hundreds of flights.

Snowfall will start late on Monday night and last for the entire day on March 14, reports AM New York.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo activated the State Emergency Center to prepare for the storm and announced that all ground metro services, as well as some bus lines, would be suspended from 4: 00 14 in March.

Due to the storm, hundreds of flights scheduled for March 14 were canceled at Kennedy, La Guardia and Newark airports, reports Patch.
