One week before the inauguration of Donald Trump his company Trump Organization withdrew from the project to build the tallest building in Georgia - a 47-story residential tower in the Georgian Black Sea city of Batumi. The company's press release stated that construction of the tower, which was estimated to cost $250 million, would continue without the company's participation.

Agreement between Trump company and Georgian company Silk Road Group (SRG) was signed in 2011. SRG received the right to use the name and trademark "Trump". The American tycoon and now US President Donald Trump arrived in Georgia in April 2012 to take part in the presentation of the Trump Tower multi-story tower project.

The completion of the Batumi Trump Tower was planned for the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014. In 2015, the construction of Trump Tower in Batumi was postponed indefinitely.

SRG reported that the project has been suspended due to market conditions. The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia stated that they strongly support the implementation of the project, but it is still in the process of being developed.

Note that the company Silk Road Group conducts business in the energy, transport, banking, media, winemaking and digital sectors. She was one of the key US partners in supplying NATO troops with fuel in Afghanistan.

They also helped move military equipment from Iraq to Afghanistan, where Georgian troops were declared allies of the United States. In January 2017, one of the reasons given for the Trump company's withdrawal from the agreement was an attempt to "calm tensions caused by allegations that Trump's international business could pose a conflict of interest once he takes the White House."

Recall that in 2005, Trump wanted to build his towers in Moscow and was eyeing potential deals. The Kazakh-Russian company helped him in this. Bayrock group. However, these plans were unsuccessful. Trump, in his time, dreamed of seeing his name on the skyscrapers of the former USSR. In 2012, Trump planned to transfer his brand for use in hotels and real estate in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

Trump's company even signed a letter of intent to imprint his name on the luxurious presidential palace in Kazakhstan. In memory of him, there was a project of a skyscraper named Trump, developed in 2011, but not yet implemented..
