The Hague court ordered Russia to compensate for the losses of Ukrainian investors in the Crimea
The arbitration court in the Hague ruled that Russia is responsible for the violation of the rights of Ukrainian investors in the Crimean peninsula and should pay them compensation for the losses due to the annexation of the Crimea.
According to court documents, we are talking about the amount of 159 million dollars, writes “New time".
This is the first court decision obliging Russia to pay compensation as a result of the annexation of Crimea. Russia must compensate Ukrainian investors for losses starting from March 21, 2014, the date Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decrees on the annexation of Crimea.
18 of Ukrainian companies and one individual, whose name has not been disclosed, have a chance to receive Russian money.
However, most likely, the Kremlin will try to appeal the decision of the Hague court in its internal court, referring to the fact that the arbitration court has no jurisdiction in Russia.
