Residents of Tajikistan fined for trying to deceive the US embassy
In March, the residents of Dushanbe, Shodior Narkulov and Mohira Rakhimov, presented themselves as businessmen and tried to deceive the staff of the American Embassy. To facilitate the procedure for obtaining a US visa, they put fake stamps at the border checkpoints of Azerbaijan, Belarus and the Dushanbe checkpoint in their passports, a court source said Central Asia News Service.
A fake stamp in passports revealed the US ambassador to Tajikistan. The embassy decided to send passports for examination of stamps in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the State Committee for National Security of the country. The Main Directorate of Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan confirmed that all the checkpoints are fake.
During the trial, it turned out that the fake stamps were made and delivered by a certain Bakhtiyor, who estimated his “services” at $ 40. By a court decision Shodior Narkulov and Mohira Rakhimov were fined 30 thousand somoni (about $ 3400).
