No money, go to business: Medvedev gave advice to teachers
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev advised Russian teachers dissatisfied with their salaries to go into business, because teaching is a calling, and not a quick way to earn money.
He stated this at the “Territory of Meanings” forum, writes “Rain".
The teacher of the Dagestan State University, asking Medvedev, said that young teachers get paid in 10-15 thousand rubles ($ 150-225), and police officers from 50 thousand rubles (about $ 750).
“I am often asked about this - both about teachers and lecturers... This is a calling. And if you want to earn money, there are a lot of great places where you can do it faster and better. The same business,” Medvedev replied.
He added that when he graduated from the university and began working as a teacher, he received 90 rubles, and the police lieutenant then received 250 rubles.
Medvedev also added that teachers should not live on wages only.
“I am absolutely sure that a modern, energetic teacher is capable of not only receiving the salary that he is entitled to according to his job description, but also earning something else,” said the Russian Prime Minister.
