A homeless man from New Haven, Connecticut, found a check for 10 000 dollars and returned it to the owner because “he wanted to do the right thing”.

The check was lost by real estate agent Robert Hoski, according to her, Elmer Alvarez who found him called her and reported that he had found the document before she found out that he was missing, writes Time.

Hoski went to a meeting with Alvarez to pick up the check, and during the conversation she found out that he was homeless. She understood his situation well, as she had once experienced a similar experience and had been homeless for some time.

In gratitude, Hoski gave Alvarez another check, the amount of which they refused to disclose.

According to Alvarez, he is looking for work and trying to improve his life. Hoski intends to help him by giving the man the opportunity of free training at her school of real estate agents, and also helps him in finding and renting housing.
