Airline creates child-free zones on planes: tickets will go on sale soon
European airline Corendon Dutch Airlines will test the idea of adult-only zones on flights from Amsterdam to the Caribbean, reports Independent.
This means that flying next to a screaming baby will be a thing of the past.
Corendon Dutch Airlines, a subsidiary of Turkey's Corendon Airlines, will begin testing the approach on flights between Amsterdam and the Caribbean island of Curaçao from November 3rd.
The "adults-only area" at the front of the Airbus A350-900 will have 102 seats, including nine with extra legroom.

It will be separated from the rest of the aircraft by walls and curtains, which the airline says will create a "shielded environment conducive to a calm and relaxed flight."
The company said it would also have a "positive impact" on parents and young children. This measure will give parents the peace of mind that their crying baby or noisy toddler will not disturb those who have a particular aversion to flying with children.

However, seats in the zone where your seatmates are over 16 years of age incur additional costs. Reserving a seat in the zone without children will cost $45 per flight, and for seats with extra space - up to $100.
“On board our flights, we always strive to respond to the various needs of our customers. We are also the first Dutch airline to introduce an Adults Only zone because we are trying to attract travelers who are looking for extra peace of mind while flying,” said Atilai Uslu, Chairman and Founder of Corendon.

“We also believe it could have a positive impact on parents traveling with young children. They can enjoy the flight without worrying about their children making more noise,” he added.
Corendon is not the first airline to take this step. Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singaporean Airlines, offers Scoot-in-Silence seats that are only available to passengers aged 12 and over.
