American Delta Airlines canceled flights to Russia

The American airline Delta Airlines will suspend direct flights to Russia from 7 September.
According to the airline representative, there will be no direct flights until May 2017. “The message does not stop, there will just be a different route,” he stressed. It will be possible to fly to New York from Moscow via Amsterdam and Paris, which Delta Airlines performs with the participation of Air France / KLM partner, the representative of the airline added.
According to information from the section of booking tickets on Delta Airlines website, on Tuesday, September 6, a direct DL 217 flight will depart from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. The site also offers a flight to New York with a transfer at Paris-Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport, which is operated jointly with Air France.
There are no direct return flights on September 6 and direct flights from Moscow to New York and back from September 7. The booking section only offers flights with one or two transfers: in Amsterdam, Paris, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis / Saint Paul Airport. These flights are operated jointly with KLM and Air France and arrive in the United States not only at John F. Kennedy Airport, but also at Newark Liberty and La Guardia airports.
