American for ten minutes became a millionaire

A resident of the American city of Boston, Massachusetts, mistakenly received a million dollars and lost it in ten minutes.

On Wednesday, July 18, 26-year-old Ellen Fleming received a voice message from an employee of TD Ameritrade, where she had an account, writes "Lenta.ru. He notified her about the deposit. She turned on the mobile app, checked the account and was surprised to find more than a million dollars on it.

Fleming admitted to the Boston Globe that she wanted to keep her money a secret. With them, she could quit her job and pay off her university debts.

“You need to use every chance you get. But this chance, it seems, could lead me to a federal prison. It was not worth it, ”she said.

The woman talked about the million that had fallen on her with her mother, and then called TD Ameritrade and told her about the error. She was told that the money was intended for another client of the company with the same first and last name who lives in Florida.

Ten minutes later, the error was corrected, and only the 63 dollar remained on the account. Fleming took it with humor.

"Please make sure that the obituary of me is called 'Ellen Fleming, who once was a millionaire,'" she joked on Twitter.

In July, it was reported that an Australian made a typo when paying a bank account and accidentally transferred a significant amount of money to an unknown customer of another bank. Only part of the money was returned.
