Amazon opens new format store in New York
Online retailer Amazon 26 September announced the opening of a physical store in New York.

In this outlet will be sold toys, household goods and a number of other products that are in demand on the company's website, writes Reuters.
Relying on customer data, Amazon will fill the stores with products that are popular with New Yorkers. A store called Amazon 4-star (it will only sell products that consumers on the site rated at least 4 stars) will allow customers to play right there with Echo helpers, Kindle e-books and other devices manufactured by the company. They will also sell books, games and dishes.
The world's largest online retailer had long since begun opening physical stores to attract new customers, but they sold primarily books—the merchandising store in New York would be the chain's first.
Products on the shelves of an Amazon 4-star store will have digital price tags, which will instantly reflect product price fluctuations.
Amazon Prime members will pay the same price for the goods in the physical outlet as in the online store. Those who do not have a membership will have to pay a higher price, in addition, they will have the opportunity to subscribe to Prime on the spot and immediately receive a discount. The same principle operates a network of bookstores Amazon, which currently there are more than a dozen.
Amazon declined to comment on the company's plans for this format, so it is not known whether similar stores will be opened in other places in the future.
In addition, the company's physical stores operate in the field of food sales. For these purposes, Amazon uses the Whole Foods network, which it acquired at 2017. year for $13,7 billion, as well as its own small grocery stores called Amazon Go, where there are no cash registers - customers can leave with purchases, and their value will be automatically charged to their cards linked to their Amazon account.
