Provide weapons and send troops to the Black Sea: Congressmen called on Biden to help Ukraine
A group of Republican congressmen led by Mike Turner has asked US President Joe Biden to consider sending American troops to Ukraine. In addition, they asked for immediate assistance to Kiev in the form of the provision of intelligence data and the supply of weapons. This is due to the next build-up of Russian military power near the border with Ukraine. Writes about it Voice of America.
The message was posted on Twitter by Fox News White House correspondent Jackie Heinrich.
In their address, 15 lawmakers, among other things, called on the Biden administration to "deploy a US military presence in the Black Sea to deter a Russian invasion."
“Russia’s behavior is becoming increasingly aggressive, it is increasing its critical rhetoric towards Ukraine on a variety of topics - from the modernization of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and military partnerships to Ukraine’s accession to NATO,” the appeal says. “Although Russian intentions are unclear, the presence of Russia’s elite 1st Guards Tank Division confirms fears that Russia is planning a new invasion of Ukrainian territory.”

In addition, as reported in the Subcommittee on Relations with Europe, Energy, Environment and Cyber Environment, today American, European and Ukrainian parliamentarians issued a joint statement on the threat to security on the border with Ukraine from Russia.
“Members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation strongly condemn the destabilizing military build-up of the Putin regime on the border with Ukraine,” the statement said. “We call for a swift, united and decisive transatlantic response, including sanctions and additional security assistance to Ukraine, to deter Russia from escalating its aggression against Ukraine.”
