COVID-19 in the USA: confirmed cases of infection and deaths by state

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC) on Wednesday, March 4, 13 US states reported confirmation of 100 cases of infection with the Chinese coronavirus. Of these, 30 were associated with travel, 17 with transmission from one person to another, 53 are still being tested, informs Fox News.

A little later, on March 4, New Jersey and Texas confirmed the first two cases of COVID-19, which are yet to be tested by the CDC, while New York reported five more cases of virus detection. According to Johns Hopkins University, there are already 159 cases in the US, but official government agencies are still checking this figure.

Arizona

State health officials report that two cases of coronavirus are currently reported in Arizona. Currently, the state laboratory independently tests people for the presence of coronavirus, without relying on data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

California

California reported 37 cases. She was the first state to have a disease of "unknown origin." On March 4, the state announced the first death from a coronavirus.

Florida

Florida has confirmed three cases of coronavirus. Because of this, the famous Miami Ultra Music Festival was canceled. For the first time in the 21-year history of the festival, it will not take place.

Georgia

One case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Massachusetts; CDC is working to confirm the second. A 20-year-old Boston resident contracted the disease in February after traveling to Wuhan.

NH

The CDC reported one confirmed case of coronavirus in New Hampshire, and state health officials say another case is currently under review. A confirmed case was detected in a young man who returned from Italy.

The second case being tested is an adult male who was in close contact with the first individual. They are both currently isolated at home.

New Jersey

The first suspected case of coronavirus, according to Governor Phil Murphy, Acting Governor Sheila Oliver and Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health, Judith Persicilli, has been confirmed in New Jersey. He became a man at the age of 30. On March 3 he was hospitalized.

New York

At least 22 people in New York have now tested positive for the coronavirus, 10 in Westchester County and one in New York City, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Five new cases were identified in one family from New Rochelle - a 46-year-old woman, her 45-year-old husband and their three children. The entire family is quarantined.

Their father is friends with a lawyer who was the first person to become infected in the city.

Fox News reports that the husband, wife, daughter and son, as well as the neighbor who took her husband to the hospital, also contracted the virus.

In Manhattan, a 39-year-old health worker who recently traveled to Iran became infected.

North Carolina

North Carolina on Wednesday confirmed its first case of a virus infection. According to officials, this happened in a nursing home in Washington state.

Oregon

The Oregon Department of Health confirmed on Wednesday that three patients were tested positive for coronavirus. The first of these was an elementary school teacher. When this became known, the school was closed for disinfection.

Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Department of Health reported two “allegedly positive” cases, both of which were in patients returning from the same European train.

Tennessee

The Tennessee Department of Health reported one confirmed case of coronavirus. The patient is a Williamson County man who recently traveled from out of state. He is isolated at home.

Texas

Texas confirmed its first positive case of coronavirus. He was a Fort Bend County patient who returned from a trip overseas. He was quarantined in a hospital.

Washington

Washington state has been hit hardest by COVID-19. Of the 39 cases in the state, 10 people have died. Nine deaths were reported in King County and one was reported in Snohomish County. An outbreak of coronavirus has been reported at a nursing and rehabilitation center in Kirkland.

Tech giants in the Seattle area have taken precautions to protect their employees after two people from Facebook and Amazon got a positive result for the virus.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin has confirmed one case of coronavirus. A Wisconsin Department of Health press release said the patient had previously traveled to Beijing and seemed to feel good.

Nebraska

Doctors in Nebraska have treated 13 patients with COVID-19, all of whom were on the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan.

As early as Thursday morning, March 5th, the World Health Organization reported 95 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection worldwide and 270 fatal cases. Of the more than 3 confirmed cases, approximately 281% occurred in China. In mid-February, the country had 80% of all cases.
